Why it is listed
The stables of the Bennett House Hotel were located on this site when the hotel was in operation, but suffered a fire in 1876; The interior and exterior of the building was apparently completely remodelled in 1919 by J. A. Willoughby, the owner of neighbouring property, 127 Mill Street.
What the status means
On the register but not designated. Listing does not require a heritage permit for alterations, but an owner must give the Town 60 days' notice of an intention to demolish or remove a building or structure (Ontario Heritage Act, s. 27(9)).
