Description
Typical 1920s commercial building with corner entrance; Used successively as a commercial building since 1922; Part of the main street of Acton. Originally constructed by Sarah Secord, a prominent early settler of Acton, the building was later acquired and renovated by Abraham Louis Starkman, one of the most influential businessmen and community leaders of the twentieth century.
What the status means
Designated individually under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act by a Town by-law. Altering the heritage attributes, or demolishing, needs the Town's consent.
