Description
Good example of a Log Cabin style residence constructed of creosote-soaked timbers from a dismantled railway trestle; This log house was built on part of the McCannah estate. Edward McCannah was Georgetown’s station agent and owned a great deal of property on Queen Street; Part of the historic residential streetscape of Queen Street; Home of Walter Beihn, owner of the Georgetown Herald.
What the status means
Designated individually under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act by a Town by-law. Altering the heritage attributes, or demolishing, needs the Town's consent.
