Why it is listed
Built by John and Hugh Cameron, builders in early Acton, for the cost of $8,000 as the first Congregational church in Acton; Good example of Gothic Revival architecture including alternative coloured bricks used as quoins and buttresses, and pointed arched windows; Contributes to the historic streetscape of Church Street
What the status means
On the register but not designated. Listing does not require a heritage permit for alterations, but an owner must give the Town 60 days' notice of an intention to demolish or remove a building or structure (Ontario Heritage Act, s. 27(9)).
