Why it is listed
Part of the downtown Georgetown streetscape; Associated with J. O’Neil who erected the building as a showroom for his Carriage Works operation on the corner of Main and Wesleyan Streets. Front used to be clad in concrete blocks but was refurbished in 2018 and clad in brick.
What the status means
On the register but not designated. Listing does not require a heritage permit for alterations, but an owner must give the Town 60 days' notice of an intention to demolish or remove a building or structure (Ontario Heritage Act, s. 27(9)).
