Description

The Perkins House at 88 Bower Street is a two-storey Gothic Revival residential building in an irregular "T" layout and was constructed in 1891. The house is one of a disappearing streetscape of larger, solid brick homes built by the entrepreneurial men of women of the village to highlight their success and place of importance in Acton.

What the status means

Designated individually under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act by a Town by-law. Altering the heritage attributes, or demolishing, needs the Town's consent.

Whether a specific alteration needs a heritage permit is the Town’s call; ask its heritage planning staff before starting work.
