Why it is listed
Lot was purchased around 1870 by John Burns, an early settler of Acton, who built the house after returning from his gold mining exploits in Cariboo; The farm land was previously used as a large fruit field, with hundreds of cherry, plum and pear trees; Representative of Regency Style cottage style including four-over-four windows, fan transom over door, segmentally arched windows in upper two panes, and hip roof
